The international El Cimarrón-Ensemble (Italy /Austria/Germany) will commission three works of music theatre to be premiered in summer 2007 (Festival Sommer im Altmühltal, Germany).

The new works shall be models of the chamber music theatre for free lance groups, with sce-nic productions wich permit to travel easily. So we would like to show the international and European character even by the mobility of the production. As “Godfathers” in music history can be seen El Cimarrón by Hans Werner Henze, Eight Songs for a Mad King by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, L’historie du soldat by Igor Strawinsky, and the Waxwork show by Karl Amadeus Hartmann.

In spite of these bright models, there should be achieved a new aesthetic of music theatre where musicians are integrated on stage as parts of the sow and actors and no longer hidden to provide only the music.

The instumental group with percussion, flutes, and guitar takes pattern from El Cimarrón. It offers not only a wonderful richness of colors, but also melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic possibilities usually reserved vor orchesters of much larger size. This ensemble will be enlarged by a violin.

There are two singers necessary for the project, a soprano, and a baritone. One piece will be written for baritone, one for soprano and one for both voices.
