B egan her study of the guitar at the age of eight with Renate Sölva and continued her training at the "Mozarteum"(Salzburg/Austria) under Eliot Fisk and Joaquin Clerch, were she finally took her Masters degree “summa cum laude”.
Born in 1976, she twice won the Austrian National Competition "Jugend musiziert" (1991/1993).
In numerous masterclasses she worked among others with internationally renowned personalities such as Alvaro Pierri, Abel Carlevaro, Leo Brouwer, Rey Guerra, Hopkinson Smith and Oscar Ghiglia at the "Accademia Musicale Chigiana"(Siena/Italy).
In 1995 she gained a scholarship in order to deepen her studies at the "Guildhall School of Music and Drama"/London under the guidance of Robert Brightmore, David Miller, Emma Kirkby and Nigel North.
In 1996 she was awared an "Artist`s Prize" by the Austrian Rotary Club. In addition she won the "Pippa Portallion Chamber Music Competition" (London) as a guitar-duo together with her Portuguese partner M.P.Marques.
In the same year she went to Montevideo (Uruguay), in order to continue her work with the famous Maestro Abel Carlevaro.
Christina Schorn performs regularly in recital while maintaining her passion for chamber & contemporary music.
Performances as a soloist as well as a chamber-musician in: Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Mexico, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, the United States, etc...
Christina Schorn teaches at the Conservatorio Nino Rota in Monopoli, Italy.
